- Summer* (April to September): 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Winter (November to March): 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
The last admission is 30 minutes before closing time.
*Note: From September 1st to October 30th, the Acropolis’ opening hours are gradually reduced by 30 minutes every two weeks to account for shorter daylight hours.
Entrances
Primarily used for small group tours and visitors with skip-the-line tickets, making it a less busy alternative.
Main Entrance – Located on the west side of the Acropolis, along Theorias Street.
A 10-minute walk from Monastiraki Square (near Plaka), passing by Hadrian’s Library and the Roman Agora.
This entrance is the most popular and can get very crowded, especially in summer.
Side Entrance – Found on Dionysiou Areopagitou Street, just a 2-minute walk from the Acropolis Metro Station and close to the Acropolis Museum.

Just steps away from the sacred hill stand the impressive New Acropolis Museum, the historic Ancient Agora, and the well-preserved Roman Agora. FAQs and tips
The Museum’s ticket is independent from the ticket to the Acropolis and other associated archaeological sites.
You can acquire general admission tickets either from the Museum’s Ticket Desk or via the e-ticketing service. Reduced admission and free admission tickets can be obtained exclusively from the Museum Ticket Desk, provided that visitors present the necessary eligibility documents.
Amateur photography and filming is permitted in all areas of the Museum, except the Archaic Acropolis Gallery. The use of flash and additional professional equipment such as portable lights and tripod, is not allowed inside the Museum. The publishing of material in print or electronic media by professional photographers is accepted only with the Museum’s written authorization.
Pets are not allowed inside the Museum. Use of guide-dogs to accompany visitors with disabilities is permitted.
Free access to the Museum’s wireless network is available in all public areas of the building.
